Gita Sāra 13 - धर्मसंस्थापनार्थाय संभवामि युगे युगे

Contemplating the reason behind the actions of a Supreme Being, free from personal desires, is a profound and perplexing inquiry. It leads us to explore the depths of existence and grapple with the notion that its engagement in actions surpasses our mortal understanding, existing on a transcendent plane beyond the limits of human comprehension.

One plausible interpretation is that the Supreme Being's actions are an expression of pure love and benevolence. Through these actions, the essence of divinity reaches out to creation, nurturing and sustaining it with boundless care. 

As humans, our actions can be influenced by a complex interplay of motivations, ranging from selfless compassion to the subtle yearning for personal gain. While some may genuinely strive for the welfare of others, the underlying desire for individual advancement can often sneak into our intentions. It is essential to recognize that every action, whether motivated by trivial or elevated aspirations, can have an element of personal gain at its core. Even acts seemingly altruistic might stem from a desire for recognition, validation, or a sense of fulfillment. However in great souls, there exists a noble ambition to attain spiritual elevation. Every action taken by individuals, driven by either trivial or elevated aspirations, is based on the desire for personal gain.

In contrast, the Supreme Being's selflessness is absolute and pure, transcending any tinge of personal gain. His actions are solely driven by an unconditional love that seeks to uplift and bestow grace upon creation, without any expectations in return. His actions are the reflection of His ocean of compassion and love for all of creation. The Supreme Being, transcending the realm of nature, remains untouched by any emotions such as attachment or aversion. No amount of praise or criticism can cause any change or disturbance in Him. He doesn't impose punishment or reward based on offerings or criticisms. 

His divine incarnation serves as an unparalleled spiritual education, illuminating the path of enlightenment and imparting life lessons to humanity, curbing disruptive forces while empowering virtuous principles. He supports and protects those who embody the virtues of goodness and selflessness, while subduing the disruptive forces that threaten harmony and order in the universe.

His selfless actions serve as a powerful example, inspiring us to rise above personal desires and embrace a path of righteousness and compassion in our own lives. Through His divine presence, we learn the true essence of selflessness and find guidance towards the fulfillment of our spiritual journey.
